The Amateur Billiard Player : May 2001

Macclesfield & District League

With the league coming to the end of the sixth season it is ticking
along nicely with eight 3-man teams playing once a fortnight, 200-
up off handicap. In addition, we have a knock-out cup competition,
played at the end of the league season. The continuously adjustable
handicap system has bedded in well, with winners losing 5 points
per game won and losers gaining 5 points. The current handicaps
range between +140 and -200

One feature which may give rise to readers’ comments is the formula
for the highest break trophy, which is expressed as a percentage of
the total points to be scored e.g. a break of 40 for a player of +100
would be 40%, whereas the same break for a player off scratch
would only be 20%
