Main Competition
The ranking positions for English Amateur players is based on the performance during the current season and takes account of results from the English Amateur Championship, the best results from the one-day tournaments which comprise the Amateur Billiards Circuit (ABC) plus the Jock McGregor, and the English Amateur Matchplay Championship.

Junior Competition
The ranking positions for English Junior players is based on performances throughout the current season and takes account of results from the English Under-16 and Under-19 Championships together with the best five results from the six one-day Junior Ranking tournaments.
At the end of the season, the players ranked in positions 1-4, will be invited to represent England Juniors in the Kingsman Cup.

Senior Competition (Over-50′s)
The ranking positions for Senior Amateur players is based on the performance during the current season and takes account of results from the Grand Masters Championship and the best results from the one-day tournaments which comprise the Amateur Billiards Circuit (ABC) plus the Jock McGregor memorial.
Only those players participating in the Grand Masters event will be eligible for inclusion in this list.

Note: the ranking scores were tweaked slightly for 2015/2016 season onwards to remove half points. For example, previously a 22.5 point score is now 23 points.

1. Adding the Jock McGregor memorial to the ABC events now allows one result dropped from the combination of ABC’s and the Jock McGregor memorial tournament results.
2. The points system for the plate is extended to lower positions.
