HONOURS BOARD
It is a little over ten years since the demise of the Billiards & Snooker Control Council set in motion the chain of events that led to the formation of the EABA. Over this period of time the EABA has at times been regarded as the billiards wing of the English Association for Snooker & Billiards and at other times has been, as now, totally independent, but one thing that the politics of the situation has never been allowed to interfere with is the organisation and playing of billiards tournaments.
Winners and losers have of course been recorded at the time, but it is now felt appropriate to chronicle the achievements of the successful competitors in all of our major tournaments since that fateful day in 1992 when the B&SCC abandoned the English Amateur Billiards Championship with seventeen players remaining in the last sixteen! A small group of billiards enthusiasts ensured that both that years English Amateur Championship and the new Under 18 Championship were brought to a conclusion, and from the seeds germinated by this emergency sprang forth the alliances that have served the needs of the English amateur player over the ensuing decade.
