2019/20 Four Nations International – Good Things Come To… England

Captain Rob Hall led the way as England retained the Four Nations cup with a comprehensive win. Powered by local delicacy Guinness, England opened up a gap at half-time and extended it on day two to win by fully 17 points – England 54, ROI 37, NI 30, Austria 23. Hall had the top weekend break of 324 plus 210, 95 and 74 in a 90 minute total of 843. Hall was joined by debutant Richard Whittle in having a 100% record over the weekend, Hall taking the highest break and Whittle the significant contribution trophies kindly sponsored by Keith McCready. The England team was also made up of Teessiders Craig Fitzpatrick, Mark Graham, Simon Snee and new ‘boy’ Ron Bickerdike, with Adam Clarke and Nathan Mann making up the eight man team.
Saturday Scores – England 27, ROI 21, NI 15, Austria 9.
TD Clive Scott and his team of referees did their usual sterling work and assistant TD Brendan Devlin liaised with the host club to produce an excellent tournament.
All at the EABA wish Christian Kirk a speedy recovery after missing out on the four nations due to illness.
